On May 9–10, 2025, the 3rd Scientific and Training Congress of the Polish Orthoplastic Society "Orthoplastic surgery" took place in the setting of Gniew Castle. This year’s edition gathered over 80 participants from across Poland, as well as international guests, including distinguished specialists from Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, Germany, and South Korea.
The congress had a distinctly interdisciplinary character, reflecting the nature of reconstructive surgery, which often requires collaboration across various medical fields. Therefore, participants included professionals from multiple specialties. Given the focus of the Society, the majority were orthopedic and trauma surgeons, although general surgeons, plastic surgeons, and maxillofacial surgeons were also present.
W programie Zjazdu znalazły się panele tematyczne poświęcone m.in. chirurgii ortoplastycznej podudzia, leczeniu odleżyn, wtórnym zabiegom rekonstrukcyjnym w kończynie górnej oraz najtrudniejszym przypadkom klinicznym. Szczególne zainteresowanie wzbudziły sesje z udziałem zaproszonych wykładowców zagranicznych, takich jak prof. Marco Innocenti, prof. Joon Pio Hong, dr Tomáš Kempný, prof. Alexandru Georgescu, dr Lucian Jiga oraz sesja z naszymi przyjaciółmi anestezjologami dotycząca m.in. kwalifikacji obciążonych i powikłanych pacjentów oraz długich długich operacji. Dyskusje panelowe toczyły się w atmosferze otwartości, dzielenia się doświadczeniem i interdyscyplinarnej wymiany. I jak zwykle brakowało czasu na dyskusje….
An excellent complement to the discussions and experience exchange were the microsurgery workshops, which attracted many interested participants. Attendees had the opportunity to practice techniques under an operating microscope and participate in training using a surgical robot. These workshops offered hands-on experience with the most advanced micro- and supermicrosurgical techniques.
During the congress, the title of Honorary Member of the Polish Orthoplastic Society was awarded to four distinguished figures:
prof. Joon Pio Hong, prof. Jarosław Czubak, prof. Jerzy Gosk and prof. Leszek Romanowski in recognition of their long-standing contributions to the development of reconstructive surgery and their support of the Society.
